Steyning Manor Township where Simon Hadley's Messuage Plantation was Built
Steyning Manor was one of the townships of William Penn's land grant.  Simon Hadley purchased the plot numbered here #21 on which he built Messuage Plantation in 1717.

The Mason-Dixon survey resulted in the line marked "C" on this map giving the boundry between the colonies of William Penn, to the North, and those of Lord Baltimore.  This placed most of Simon Hadley's property in what was later New Castle, Delaware.

The plot numbered #1 was purchased by Mary Mason Roland, mother of Mary Rowland who was wife of Joshua Hadley, son of Simon and Ruth Hadley.

The Lindley family purchased lot #6.
